The community standard E. coli K-12 MG1655 'wild-type' sequence can be found here, although there is probably no actual strain with this genome. BOP27 is a wild-type Escherichia coli strain used in many studies conducted in the Palsson lab. The sequence of BOP27 is highly similar to the community standard E. coli K-12 MG1655 wild-type sequence. Recently, we sequenced BOP27 and used breseq to characterize its mutations compared to the reference sequence.
